Research May Turn Bad Citrus Economics Around

Florida orange production is on a downward trend because of HLB, but could actually increase because of research investments, citrus economist Bob Norberg told growers attending Florida Citrus Mutual’s annual conference last week. Norberg projects production levels in 10 years based on both the status quo and on slight improvements in tree mortality, replanting rates and yields. He says research …
