We recently sat down with Wyatt Doolittle of the Georgia Beef Board to hear a quick update on the Beef Board.
“One thing that we’ve really been focused on over here at the Georgia Beef Board is making sure that our programming is staying relevant to both producers and consumers. And a lot of that comes down to just being more intentional about where we’re spending our time and how we’re spending those checkoff dollars,” Doolittle explained.
“So we’re continuing to look for opportunities to put beef in front of consumers through various things like our local events, our restaurant partnerships and burger weeks, sports, media, ag education, and all the places where the audience is already engaged. But at the same time, we’re trying to do a better job of measuring what those programs are actually accomplishing. You know, it’s easy to say that we attended an event or we sponsored something, but what really matters is whether we reach the right people, created engagement, and at the end of the day, just encourage somebody to purchase beef or help tell a better story about our industry,” said Doolittle
“And then like another big piece of that is making sure that Georgia producers know what the Beef Board is doing. Producers are ultimately funding these programs, and there needs to be a clear connection between the dollars being collected and the work being done. So I’m excited to say that heading into fall, we’ve got several opportunities to continue that work,” Doolittle added.
Doolittle also mentioned, “The Georgia National Fair is always a major consumer touch point for us, and we’ll also continue working through our media, education, and industry partnerships around the state. So overall, the goal is pretty simple. Keep beef visible, keep beef relevant, and make sure that we’re using those producer dollars in a way that we can actually generate an impact.”
