NCBA Representative Reflects on Summer Business Meeting

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association held their summer business meeting this past July. Clint Richardson, NCBA Division Region 2 Representative for Florida, reflected on why these meetings make a difference.

“I would just say, I think the summer business meetings are unique because, because, you know, nationally we get together as an industry in February as well at convention, but to me the summer business meetings are really more, we’re too big and, you know, the checkoff and demand and all the things that we do are way too important to only do it once a year, so I think the summer business meeting kind of fills that gap to really kind of get some things done, to move our initiatives forward, to get the budgets where they need to be as well, you know, in between these national meetings, and then we can, you know, and we can hear what the producers are seeing on the ground and make sure that we’re focused on the right things when we do go to summer meetings, you know, and then again, you know, we get another chance to do a convention,” said Richardson

“So I would just add that about the summer business meetings, I think they’re super important because it gives us that kind of that opportunity to align and, you know, what’s kind of, this is a grassroots organization, right, and so what’s happening in the field or in the pasture, so to speak, and on the operations and roll that up to what we, what the priorities are for National Cattle and Beef Association and how do we move this great industry forward,” Richardson added.
