The Georgia Agriculture community is mourning the passing of Larry Walker Jr.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp issued a statement saying, “Marty, The girls and I are truly saddened to learn of the passing of a great Georgian, a dedicated public servant, a Damn Good Dawg, and a valued friend today – Larry Walker, Jr.  Larry’s life and legacy will continue to benefit the people of our state for generations to come, carried on by his son, Larry Walker III, who has so capably followed in his father’s footsteps of service. As we reflect on the enduring impact of this husband, father, and statesman, we ask that all Georgians join us in keeping Janice Walker, their children, and extended family in our prayers as they mourn his passing.”

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper issued a statement saying, “I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Larry Walker, Jr., one of the finest public servants Middle Georgia has ever produced. Larry dedicated more than three decades of his life to public service, including 16 years as House Majority Leader, and throughout that time, he never forgot his roots or the constituents he was elected to serve. His contributions to rural Georgia and our state’s #1 industry are innumerable. Simply put, Larry’s work made Georgia a better place to live, work, worship, and raise a family, and his legacy will endure for decades to come. I hope you’ll join me in praying for Larry’s friends, family and loved ones as they grieve this tremendous loss.”
