Jackie Burns has been named permanent director of the University of Florida-IFAS’ Citrus Research and Education Center at Lake Alfred after serving approximately two years as interim director. Florida’s Senate Budget Committee is scheduled to debate SB2040, a bill that would mandate all employers in Florida to use the federal E-Verify system to ensure employees are in good standing.
