Yesterday we reviewed our list of 48 commodities and how they fared during the month of July. Today we look at the big picture, how rankings change when looking back year to date with seven months now in the books. Energies, no surprise, remain 1, 2, and 3 after seven months.
Heating oil, number one, crude oil, and gasoline. Soy oil cracked the top 10, up 45% year to date. As does wheat, wheat at number 10, up 21%.
Cotton and soybeans, just outside the top 10, cotton number 12, up 13% year to date. Soybeans at number 16, up 9%. This is the bottom-line report.
We look at the very bottom of our list of 48, going back to New Year’s, at the bottom, orange juice, down over 25%.
