As the Georgia Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association Summer Conference is being held, we had a chat with Wyatt Doolittle, of the Georgia Beef Board to tell us more.
“We’re here at the Summer Conference in Athens where hundreds of agricultural teachers from every corner of our state are coming together to learn, collaborate, and prepare for another great school year of ag education. So, the Georgia Beef Board is super proud to be a part of that mission because today’s agricultural teachers are shaping tomorrow’s producers, veterinarians, nutritionist’s, meat scientists, and consumers,” Doolittle said.
“So, investing in agricultural education really is investing in the future of Georgia agriculture. One thing that many people don’t realize is that Beef Chekhov has a wide range of free educational resources available for teachers, whether it’s classroom curriculum that meets state standards, nutrition education, beef production resources, hands-on classroom activities, or just opportunities to connect students with the beef industry, we’re here to help teachers bring agriculture to life for their students. So for students, those resources can help answer important questions like where their food comes from, how cattle are raised, and why animal care is so important, and the role that beef plays in a healthy diet,” added Doolittle.
“Even students who don’t come from a farm benefit from understanding the science, stewardship, and career opportunities within agriculture. So we’re really excited to be hosting a breakout session and connecting with educators all week long,” said Doolittle.
