
The National Pork Producers Pork Forum opens today in Kansas City, with the pork trade remaining strong. Pork export sales remain strong, in fact last week’s total the highest so far this year, Mexico, remaining our number one customer.
CME Lean Hog Index, the highest since mid-November. April Lean Hog Futures reached a high on February the 6th, up at 99.80. Futures fell back from that, but have been filling the gap since 95.65, the first important number, then leaves 97.87 as the next target. Pork producers’ leadership annually hold their business meeting separate from the trade show.
Their trade show will take place at the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, June 3rd and 4th.
