Florida Beef Council Celebrates a Strong 2025 Beef Promotion Year and Honors Key Leaders
The Florida Beef Council (FBC) is wrapping up the 2025 beef promotion year, and it has truly been a period of growth, outreach, and collaboration. We caught up with Deanne Maples of the Florida Beef Council to gather her reflections on this year’s accomplishments and the dedicated individuals who have served on the board. As she explained, “We’re getting ready for our final board meeting of 2025 and I think this is always a time that we can look back and say you know wow what a year we’ve had a really strong run with beef promotion and education all across Florida but we didn’t stop at the state line either.”
This year included two standout promotional successes. Maples highlighted “Two of the biggest highlights of our year this year the MLB Speedway Classic and our activation we did recently in New York City at the Wine and Food Festival and those were incredible opportunities but we didn’t do them alone.” These nationally recognized events allowed Florida beef to shine in front of massive audiences while showcasing the value of cross-state collaboration.
Partnerships played a pivotal role in this year’s success. As Maples noted, “We partnered with several other state beef councils across those two events and that teamwork I think is really important. It helps us stretch every checkoff dollar. When we work together we can pool more funds together and we can reach more people and drive beef demand in a much bigger way.”
Behind every initiative is a dedicated board, and the Florida Beef Council is especially grateful for the volunteers who guide its mission. Maples emphasized, “You know none of this happens without great leadership behind the scenes and we are so fortunate to have a board made up of volunteer cattlemen, cattlewomen and industry experts who give their time and even their heart to the programs that we do.”
This year also marks the completion of terms for two respected board members. “First is Dr. Jason Scheffler from the University of Florida… he’s brought tremendous expertise of course and has been such an asset to our board.” She also recognized “Clint Richardson… a steady thoughtful voice at the table… we’re grateful for the leadership of both of these men. We’re going to miss them on the board next year.”
With strong leadership, effective partnerships, and nationwide visibility, the Florida Beef Council concludes 2025 poised for continued momentum in promoting beef demand.
