Everett Griner talks about the scientist working on producing a newly improved potato in today’s Agri View.
Now if we rated vegetables for quality, health, and taste, it wouldn’t even be close. Given the vast selection, we have to choose from, the potato would win hands down. Not just in America, but all over the world. Not all potatoes are the same now. It depends on the soil and the part of the world where they are grown. But, whatever, and wherever potatoes are still number one. It is perhaps the oldest vegetable in the world. But as versatile, and as old as it is, there are people who are working to improve it. You would think that anything that provided the potassium, vitamin C, and all of the amino acids that the body needs wouldn’t need any improvement. Some scientists have spent thirty years trying to grow a better potato. If they succeed, I want to try one. I bet I won’t be able to tell the difference.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
