Everett Griner talks about California producing more than just food in today’s Agri View.

When most people think about farming and California they think about fruit, nuts and vegetables. They know where that beautiful cauliflower, carrots and celery comes from. You only have to mention grapes and big juicy peaches to remind people of California. Nobody has to tell you where you’re walnuts, cashews and other tree nuts comes from. It’s California. There is a lot more I could mention that literally speaks California. Most of it is about food crops.

Think about this. You mention cotton and thoughts immediately swing to Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Georgia. How about California? Well this year California growers will produce almost 400,000 acres of cotton. That is more than some of their food crops.

That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner.
