American Feed Industry Association Senior Vice President of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Richard Sellers says AFIA is disappointed FDA didn’t grant the industry more time to review the proposed FSMA Animal Food Rule. Sellers says FDA had more than two-years to write the animal food rule – while the animal feed industry only had 5-months to review and submit comments. AFIA doesn’t predict FDA will move forward with a re-proposal of the rule – but FDA has said it will publish revised language for the proposed rule. AFIA will submit comments by the March31st deadline and continue to filter feedback and comments after that date due to the enormity of the rule.
