Coca-Cola and Cutrale Donate $3 Million to HLB Research
Coca-Cola and Cutrale Citrus Juices have each pledged $1.5 million to the University of Florida. The contributions will be used to fund citrus greening research programs managed by the Citrus Research and Development Foundation (CRDF). Citrus Growers Dodge Freeze Damage; More Cold Coming
While frozen orange-juice futures rose to their highest price ($1.66 a pound) this week since 2007 on fears that freezing temperatures next week could cause damage, Florida Citrus Mutual President Vic Story says growers seem to have come through this week’s freeze well. But another cold snap is expected to hit Florida late Sunday and into Monday. Listen to Story’s comments here and learn what areas of Florida saw record-breaking temperatures this week. Growers can monitor weather conditions by visiting the Florida Automated Weather Network (FAWN).
