In the first of these reports, Florida Citrus Production Research Advisory Council Chairman Peter McClure says that while massive research into citrus greening disease must go on for several more years, more commercialization of research findings will eventually occur.
One example of the move from research to commercialization is the effort to get the chemical in guava that repels psyllids into a commercially useable form. In the second report, University of Florida entomologist Lukasz Stelinski discusses the chemical’s promises and shortfalls.
