The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is expected to place a hold on the agency’s enhanced ban on high-risk cattle material in feed for all animals.
Various Reasons for Lower Cattle on Feed Numbers
The latest cattle on feed report shows a five-percent drop in inventories compared to March of last year, while placement numbers and marketing’s for February also fell, as USDA livestock analyst Shayle Shagam describes the reasons why.
Russians Ban Poultry from 3 U.S. Processors
USDA has confirmed that as of March 27th, Tyson Foods’ plant in Cumming, Georgia, Peco Foods’ plant in Canton, Mississippi, and Sanderson Farms’ plant in Hammond, Louisiana will not be able to sell poultry to Russia.
