In the Citrus Expo Seminar building we had a display of windbreak plants for growers to look at.

This afternoon one of the speakers was Nate Jameson, past-president of the Florida Citrus Nurserymen’s Association. He talked about nursery tree production and availability from a nursery manager’s point of view.

Bayer Crop Science was one of the Platinum sponsors of the 2006 Citrus Expo as David Owens is shown chatting with a couple of growers at the booth. Cecilio Taylor is a citrus grower in Argentina.

He’s here with a group of growers who are also touring other parts of the state. Cecilio was one of our seminar speakers.

Southeast AgNet’s Lee McCoy was on the ball today getting us a couple more interviews from the seminar program.

Early on the program were Tom Spreen, UF/IFAS FRED and Bob Norberg, Director, Economic and Market Research, FDOC.

The man who has been putting the Citrus Expo Seminar together since the first show is Bob Rouse, pictured here with IFAS helpers while a seminar is in progress. Bob is Associate Professor/Horticultural Sciences, Southwest Florida Research and Education Center in Immokalee, FL.

On this morning’s seminar program Walter Kates, Director of the Labor Relations Division, FFVA spoke about ag labor relations in transition.

There were a number of dignitaries at the Gulf Citrus Growers Association Banquet last night. This annual banquet draws quite a crowd.
