GA Cattleman gets BQA Updates

A National Beef Quality Assurance meeting took place recently, an event attended by Dr. Jim Strickland a past-president of the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association, who said we’ve come a long way but still have areas cropping up from time to time that need to be dealt with.

USDA Designation of Disaster Areas for GA Counties

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Agriculture designated 60 counties in Georgia as primary natural disaster areas due to losses caused by excessive rainfall, flash flooding, severe wind, tornadoes, and lightning that occurred on and after March 26, 2009. NCC Concerned About Expansion of Clean Water Act

The Clean Water Restoration Act has not moved forward recently since its passing by the Senate Environmental and Public Works Committee, but Keith Menchey, Manager of Science and Environmental Issues for the National Cotton Council says its still a concern to those in the ag community.
