The Georgia Beef Board (GBB) has been hard at work promoting beef at several events across the state. Wyatt Doolittle with the Georgia Beef Board is here to tell us more. “It’s been another busy couple of weeks here at the Georgia Beef Board and we’ve had some great opportunities to connect with consumers across the state through two key things,” said Doolittle.
“Georgians certainly know and love football and a good hamburger. First, we had the opportunity to celebrate the 2026 Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta on October 24th. This year’s class recognized 33 outstanding athletes whose accomplishments helped shape the history of high school football in Georgia,” Doolittle added.
“Among those honored were former Atlanta Falcons Chuck Smith and Terrence Mathis along with some of the state’s most accomplished players from generations past. Through our partnerships with Score Atlanta and Georgia High School Athletics, we’re continuing to find opportunities to connect beef with sports, nutrition, and the communities that support these great athletes. It’s about more than what happens on Friday nights though,” Doolittle highlighted.
Doolittle said, “It’s about recognizing the traditions, the families, and the communities that make high school athletics such an important part of Georgia. And speaking of Georgia traditions, Macon Burger Week is back. We’ve once again partnered with Visit Macon to celebrate one of the state’s longest running Burger Week events.”
“This year’s event kicked off on October 30th and it’ll run through November 8th featuring 26 unique burger creations from local restaurants all priced at $12 or less. What makes these events so valuable is that they go beyond simply promoting beef. They encourage consumers to visit locally owned restaurants, support their communities, and experience the versatility of beef in new and creative ways,” described Doolittle.
“Whether we’re celebrating Georgia’s football legends or encouraging consumers to try a new burger, our mission remains the same, building demand for beef and keeping it at the center of the conversation,” added Doolittle.
