More details have been announced on the eight-billion-dollar harvest relief, harvest fuel relief program that has been announced by USDA as farmers get ready to receive some help.
Eligible producers are encouraged to create a login.gov account in advance of the application period announcement. Pre-applications will be available online to producers with a login.gov account linked to USDA. The commodity specific payment rates for title one commodities will be released in November.
Payment methodology for other eligible commodities will be announced at a later date. Crop insurance linkage will not be required. However, it is strongly urged producers to take advantage of the enhanced risk management tools evolved in the program.
The harvest relief program builds up the Trump’s administration’s support for American farmers. Earlier this year we got the farmer a bridge assistance program. That was 12 billion dollars in bridge payments and the fueling will be similar to that in the very near future.
Thank goodness farmers are finally getting some help.
