The Partnerships in Action conference was held recently. Kayla Greer with the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association (ACA) sat down with Southeast AgNet to tell us more.
“Last week, Bailey Watson and I on our staff made the trek out to Denver, Colorado to attend the annual Partnerships in Action conference. And that is just, that’s an event that is hosted by the Federation of State Beef Councils and funded by the Beef Checkoff Program. And basically, it’s the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. They’re a contractor to the Beef Checkoff and it’s their way of rolling out their plan for the year,” said Greer.
“And it kind of lets us in on the back end of the story and explains to us the different assets and how we can work and use that information to extend the beef that’s what’s for dinner message here in the state of Alabama. Get to enjoy a lot of market research and insight learning about where the consumer is now, what are their behaviors, what are the trends that we can expect to see. That alone is just useful information for Bailey and I to come back to Alabama and formulate a plan based on where the consumer is at today and what the trends coming down the pipeline look like,” Greer added.
“So, it’s a really good time also for all of the states just to get together and network, be it states from all over the nation or even just getting with our southeastern friends, you know, Deanne Maples in Florida, Valerie Bass in Tennessee, all of our friends in our surrounding states. We can get together and say, all right, how can we regionalize this beef that’s what’s for dinner campaign and how can we work together to bring more bang to the checkoff buck. So just a valuable time of networking here in that market research, being handed over the assets for the 2027 year and really, really kicks off and invigorates Bailey and I to come back well equipped to put together the marketing plan for the Alabama Beef Checkoff in 2027,” said Greer.
