Peanut farmers are busy in the field getting the rest of this crop in.

Only about half have been delivered so far. We’re watching lots of celebrations saluting the peanut, including the Georgia National Fair. It continues through October the 18th.

It is showcasing a variety of attractions including ag exhibits, entertainment, and competition. This year the fair theme through the 18th of October is America 250 Georgia Grown. The tickets are $20 each for adults.

Kids 3 to 10 pay $5. That’s going on till October 18th in Perry, Georgia. Also, on the docket this week on Saturday, October 17th, the annual Georgia Peanut Festival is held in Sylvester, Georgia.

You’re invited to come and attend. There’ll be a big parade, lots of exhibitors with different craftsmen from all over the state, and peanut treats to your delight during the day. We have country fried peanuts from the Georgia Peanut Commission, and they also have the fried or grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

They’ll all be free. Sponsored by the Peanut Buying Point Association and the Georgia Peanut Commission. That’s coming up Saturday of parade rolls at 10 o’clock.
