Several scholarship opportunities are available through the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation. Josie Jones with the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association sat down with Southeast AgNet to tell us more.
“The Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation awards scholarships to youth across the state every single year and we are halfway through that application season,” said Jones
“Applications are open through November 2nd for those awards, and we have scholarships for everyone from current high school seniors all the way through postgraduate students in medical programs and veterinary programs as well as a few other opportunities. So, I encourage all students to go and check that program out. There are 25 other different award types, and we typically award over 150 students every single year,” Jones added.
“As I said, applications close on November 2nd and the number one requirement for that program is that you, a grandparent, or a parent have been a member of the Cattlemen’s Association for two consecutive years. You can find more information at alabamabeef.org scholarships,” Jones added.
