USMEF Celebrates 50th Anniversary

The U.S. Meat Export Federation is inviting industry leaders and stakeholders to Palm Springs, California, November 11th through the 13th for its 50th Anniversary Strategic Planning Conference. The event will celebrate five decades of expanding global opportunities for U.S. red meat while looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities shaping international markets. The conference agenda features a series of timely sessions designed to inform and engage attendees.

Opening the event on Wednesday will be geopolitical analyst and author Peter Zeihan, who will share insights on global trends in demographics, economics, energy, technology, and security. Attendees will also hear from USMEF President and CEO Dan Halstrom. Thursday’s general session will feature a panel of industry leaders examining key milestones in the U.S. red meat industry and discussing the forces driving its future.

Participants include representatives from CattleFAQs, the National Pork Board, the Iowa Corn Promotion Board, and Interra International and USMEF’s Asia-Pacific Operations. On Friday, USMEF staff from Mexico, Africa, and the Asian Pacific region will lead a discussion on building and expanding international market opportunities for U.S. meat products. The conference also includes commodity breakout sessions, market updates from USMEF international team, and the election of the Federation’s 2026-27 officer team.
