USDA makes price projections each February and what they think prices will be at harvest time for corn and soybeans. This year could be going against a longer-term trend. Corn and soybean harvest prices have exceeded those February projections just three of the last ten years, but this year different.
Currently, 2026 corn harvest prices are 7 to 8 percent above those February projections. Soybeans are even better, 15 to 16 percent above those projections made last February. That’s the best since 2012.
This is the bottom-line report. Closer look at December corn. A low $4.95 four trading sessions in a row puts the 50-day moving average at $5.07 as the next target.
