More details have been released on the peanut stocks and processing report from USDA. They said this past year the shellers milled 441 million pounds during the month of July.

That’s 13.3 percent more than last year. Commercial processors utilized 206 million pounds and that is up 6.8 percent, so the market looks pretty good. Considering categories, they said the government total last year was 26.9 million pounds of peanut butter for the various nutrition programs across USDA.

On the various products they’re showing peanut candy down 2.8 percent, peanut snacks down 4.5 percent after a big increase last month. Peanut butter is down 1.6 percent. You add it all together total edible peanut use right now for the 12-month period is down 1.6 percent.

In-shells had a big boost they’re up 15.7 percent. USDA summary overall said shell peanuts edible peanuts last year were down 2 percent from the previous year. That’s an update.
