The USDA recently announced additional funding towards Feral Swine Eradication and Control Pilot Program. Farm production and conservation under Secretary Richard Fordyce breaks down funding details.
“Groups can apply for grants to help assist with really the eradication of feral swine,” said Fordyce.
Fordyce added, “Applications are open now, and folks that are interested in applying for some help in doing this feral swine eradication can find that grant at grants.gov. Search grants.gov for the feral swine eradication and control pilot program, and they have until September 21st to submit those grants. It basically is a way for folks to help offset the cost to do a number of things related to trapping, surveillance, other things that we can do proactively to start working on and continuing the effort of feral swine eradication.”
In a press release, the USDA said, “This partnership is in response to the threat feral swine pose to American agriculture, landscapes, and human and livestock health, part of a broader $105 million investment for the feral swine eradication and control pilot program.”
