We begin the second week of August and its State Fair season in many parts of the country. Ohio State Fair wrapped up yesterday. Wisconsin, Indiana State Fairs are underway starting this Thursday.
Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa State Fairs open. Interesting that the California State Fair and North Dakota State Fairs are already over, while Alaska doesn’t start for another week. In this area, Georgia State Fair is in October each year, Florida in February.
This is the bottom-line report. Weather looks favorable for state fairs now and into the balance of the month. Weather is also favorable in Wednesday’s crop report.
Will be interesting to see if top yields, especially for corn, are missing from private estimates and USDA.
