We recently sat down with Erin Beasley of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association. Beasley discussed with Southeast AgNet the importance of membership.
“Well, this summer we’ve wrapped up our summer regional meetings and they’ve been a huge success,” said Beasley.
“That’s a great membership drive for us and just overall awareness of association and a lot of the member benefits that come along with joining the ACA and so I want to thank everyone that took time to come to one of the five meetings that we had across the state. We wrapped up last week with our final one in Atmore with over 300 in attendance so that was a great way to wrap things up. But one of the focus points for us was talking about the value-added membership and so while most people think okay I’m going to pay $50 and be a member of the ACA, one thing we want to try to convey better to our members is what that means in terms of the if you get advocacy from a governmental affairs space you also of course receive your magazine each month and there’s also a lot of member benefits that are tangible items so discount programs that you can that you can take part in from being a member of the ACA and so we want to encourage anyone that’s a member to go online to our website,” explained Beasley.
Beasley also said, “You can see all the benefits of the membership and hopefully you can find one to take advantage of. As a reminder those are anything from hotel discounts to a discount on your rental cars with enterprise all the way to Alabama companies that provide discounts and so these are great ways to get that value and that extra value out of that $50 membership and so I want to thank all of our members for participating this summer in the meetings. They were a great success for us, and we also want to thank all of the sponsors that helped make this possible to provide meals and our friends at Alabama Extension that provided some great educational pieces to the programs as well.”
