Well, the peanut farmers are making sure they get enough rain now to get this crop watered.
We’ve got a lot of dry land peanuts out there that needs some rain to make this crop this year. Checking on some planned meetings this coming year. We do have the September the 2nd, a Cotton and Peanut Research Field Day to be held at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Comfort Center.
That’s coming up on September the 2nd. There’s also a Peanut Field Day in North Florida Research and Education Center. That’s at Live Oak, Florida on August the 25th.
Alabama’s having one too. Alabama Row Crop Field Day is scheduled for August the 21st. And the West Florida Peanut Field Day or Crop Row Pot Day is coming up from Jay, Florida, and that is on August the 20th.
Also set on the calendar is South Carolina Peanut Day. It will be September the 10th, the same as North Carolina. And then the 38th Annual Georgia Peanut Tour will be held in Savannah, Georgia, the 22nd through the 24th.
And you’re welcome to come and attend and enjoy two days of tours around the port and seeing peanuts grown in the area around Savannah.
