During a visit to Pennsylvania this week, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, alongside U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, announced waiving the hours-of-service rules for fertilizer deliveries.

In a post on X, Secretary Rollins said, “We are waiving hours-of-service rules for fertilizer deliveries to help get critical supply to American farmers faster during spring planting season”. Secretary Rollins also highlighted in her post, the efforts the administration has made so far to address the availability and cost of fertilizer including “hours-of-service waiver for fertilizer deliveries, Jones Act suspension to move more than 65,000 tons of ammonia from port to port, phosphate and potash added to the Critical Minerals List, and expansion of long-term American fertilizer production. These points are aimed to bring up to $9 billion back into the U.S. for domestic fertilizer production.”

Secretary Rollins also said, “This is another major action from the Trump Administration to lower fertilizer costs and support the farmers who feed America.”
