Georgia Beef Board Promoting Beef Across the State

Macon Burger Week

The Georgia Beef Board has been busy promoting beef across the state and we caught up with Wyatt Doolittle with GBB to learn more.

“Over the past two weeks, we’ve spent a lot of time where the cattle industry starts at our local stockyards. Visiting sale barns, talking with producers and staying connected to the people who make this industry possible is incredibly important to us. Those are the relationships that are the backbone of everything that we do. Over on the consumer side, Milledgeville Burger Week was a huge success, putting beef front and center in a fun and approachable way. Events like this give us a chance to reach folks where they are through great food and positive experiences with beef,” said Doolittle.

“We also had a fantastic time at the Coweta County Rodeo where more than 27,000 people came through the gates. That’s 27,000 opportunities to have conversations about beef, answer questions and connect consumers back to the farm. The energy at the Coweta County Rodeo was incredible and it’s so exciting to see that kind of enthusiasm around agriculture,” said Doolittle.

“And one of my personal favorites, the Macon County Farm Day. We got to spend time with students and teach them where their food comes from, how cattle are raised and helping them make that connection between agriculture and their everyday lives. That’s work that really matters and those kids asked some fantastic questions. It’s always encouraging to see that kind of curiosity. Georgia Beef Month is all about celebrating beef certainly, but also education, outreach and making sure the story of our cattle producers is being told,” said Doolittle.
