The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association kicks off their Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Program this week and we caught up with Michael Smith with ACA to learn more.
“We’re super excited. We’ve got class number 13 will convene this week there in Montgomery at our quarterly board meeting. We’ll introduce the class to all of our board members there and let them see how our business is done at the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and we’ll enjoy a nice lunch and do their pictures and we’ll get them out of their fancy clothes and get them on some farm tours starting Thursday afternoon and we’ll do farm tours Thursday and also Friday just kind of in the river region there around Montgomery. We’ve got a group of 24 and they are literally from kind of every corner of the state from Morgan County up north to Mobile County down south,” said Smith.
“We’ve got a group of 24 leaders now and hopefully future leaders of the association and from the eastern side of the state to the western side of the state. So we’ve got, I want to say we’ve got about 15 counties represented I think in this particular class and we’ve got a gentleman from Coosa County in central Alabama that has never had a member in the class. So yeah, it’s going to be a good diverse group here,” said Smith.
