The Georgia Beef Board is Celebrating Beef Month through various efforts and we caught up with Wyatt Doolittle with the Georgia Beef Board to learn more.
“To kick things off, we’ll start with the Northeast Georgia Burger Battle during the first week of May. So this will be a lot of local restaurants competing for the best burger. Then as soon as that one’s finished up, we’ll roll right into Atlanta Burger Week, which is one of our largest consumer-facing events that we do all year, reaching millions of consumers across the metro Atlanta area, and driving real beef demand through restaurants. To round out the month, we’ll also have Milledgeville Burger Week, which brings that same energy to a different part of the state. Then we’ll also be out in the community at the Coweta County Rodeo, and we’ll have a booth set up there, talking directly with consumers about beef, how it’s raised, and why it’s such a great choice,” said Doolittle.
“Starting this week, you’ll hear us up on the air with Beef It’s What’s For Dinner campaigns running statewide through iHeartRadio. We also have our partnership with Score Atlanta going on, and earlier this month, we filmed a segment featuring the Protein Plays of the Year, tying beef into performance and nutrition, especially for those athletes. And we’re continuing that momentum with television outreach. I’ll actually be on the Atlanta news station talking about Beef Month, and again, everything that we’ve got going on. So whether it’s at a restaurant, on the radio, at a rodeo, or on TV, we want folks thinking about beef, choosing beef, and understanding the value it brings to their plate and to Georgia agriculture,” said Doolittle.
