
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has released the Cotton Prospective Plantings Report for the month of March. The following data and report is provided by the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service.
“Growers intend to plant 9.64 million acres of all cotton across the United States, which is up 4 percent from the previous year. Cotton producers in Georgia expect to plant an estimated 900 thousand acres, up 8 percent from 2025. Alabama forecasts no change from 2025 in planting at 290,000 acres of cotton. In Florida, the cotton planting forecast is set at 65,000 acres, a 7 percent increase from the previous year.”
