The US Meat Export Federation (USMEF) worked to find outlets for beef and pork products that would typically be exported to China.
Due to steep Chinese retaliatory tariffs on US goods the US Meat Export Federation’s international offices worked together to identify new markets for beef and pork products that have typically been purchased by buyers in China. China retaliatory tariffs on US pork are at 57% while US Beef tariffs are at 32%. Exports of beef have been halted also by the failure of the Chinese government to renew US beef plant registrations.
USMEF’s Latin America Representative Homero Recio highlights the efforts to move some of this product to other markets.
