The National FFA Organization has announced that thousands of FFA members from across the country will be attending their Washington Leadership Conference in Washington DC starting this month. The Conference, which runs from June 3rd to July 11th in five week-long blocks, provides the opportunity for over 1,600 FFA members and over 250 chaperones to visit our nation’s capital. The Washington Leadership Conference has been held for over 50 years, teaching students how to advocate for agriculture and agricultural education through congressional visits where they will be meeting with their state’s Representatives and Senators. In addition to these visits, the attendees will visit national landmarks including Arlington National Cemetery, the Smithsonian Museums, and the US Capitol. Each day the conference focuses on principles taught through the context of the capital and by the end of the conference each attendee will leave with a Living to Serve plan to put into action in their communities. The conference, sponsored by Corteva, Farm Credit, Growth Energy and Syngenta, is sold out for this year, but to learn more information about next year, reach out to your Chapter advisor or visit ffa.org for more information.
