At Alabama Livestock Auctions, for the week ended March 15, 2024, receipts at 17 markets totaled an estimated 9,255 head compared to 8,656 last week and 9,186 last year. Compared to last week: Slaughter cattle sold 5.00 to 8.00 higher. Feeder steers and feeder heifers sold 4.00 to 10.00 higher, feeder bulls sold sharply higher. Trade active with good to very good demand on feeder cattle. Replacement cows sold steady. Year-to-date receipts totaled 103,787 compared to 116,932 last year.
