At Alabama Livestock Auctions, for the week ended February 2, 2023, receipts at 17 markets totaled an estimated 11,000 head compared to 9,626 last week and 7,576 last year. Compared to last week: Slaughter cattle sold 2.00 to 6.00 higher. Feeder steers and feeder bulls sold sharply higher, feeder heifers sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Trade active with very good demand on feeder cattle. Replacement cows sold steady. Year-to-date receipts totaled 34,532 compared to 54,440 last year.
