The Florida Panhandle Ag Extension Team will host the 2023 Beef & Forage Field Day Thursday, April 13th at the North Florida Research and Education Center’s Beef Unit near Greenwood, Florida. There are six stops scheduled for the field tour and the event will conclude with lunch.

But, organizers have received a number text messages and calls with questions about the weather. Organizers are fully aware of the weather forecast for a high chance of rain on Thursday morning, so they have developed an alternate plan. If weather prevents the field tours, the speakers will make presentations in the Beef Pavillion. But, if the rain holds off, field tours will be held as scheduled.

Tour stop presentations will include integrated crop/livestock systems, limpograss to fill the fall forage gap, bahiagrass pasture fertilization, pregnancy testing, self-feeding silage bags, and mycotoxins in forage grasses.

But they note steaks will be grilled for lunch rain or shine!

The registration fee is $10/person payable online and includes a steak lunch. Click here to learn more.
