World Livestock Auctioneer Championship is Saturday

The 2022 World Livestock Auctioneer Championship (WLAC) will be held Saturday, June 11 at the Shipshewana Auction, Inc. in Shipshewana, Indiana.

31 semi-finalist auctioneers will compete in the contest, which is comprised of an auctioneering and interview portion.

The auctioneering contest will take place during a live sale, where contestants will sell cattle to actual bidders. Plus, each WLAC semi-finalist must clearly establish and demonstrate their knowledge of the livestock marketing industry in an interview competition.

Contestants from the Southeast who qualified to compete are Philip Gilstrap from Pendleton, S.C.; Marcus Kent of Dunnellon, Fl.; Jacob Massey from Petersburg, Tenn.; Chris Pinard of Swainsboro, Ga. and Tim Yoder from Montezuma, Ga.

WLAC can be seen via live online broadcasts. The interviews will be Friday, June 10 on LMAauctions.com or LMA Facebook Live starting at 3:00 p.m. (ET). The auctioneering competition on June 11 will begin at 8:00 a.m. (ET) and will also be streamed live on LMAAuctions.com and the LMA Facebook page.

The Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) Annual Convention will take place in conjunction with the WLAC.
