Stockmanship & Stewardship Event Coming to Alabama

Clint Thompson Alabama, Cattle

Cattle producers across the Southeast are invited to take part in the 2022 Stockmanship and Stewardship events. They are a unique two-day educational experience featuring low-stress cattle handling demonstrations, Beef Quality Assurance educational sessions, facility design sessions and industry updates.

Three regional events have been announced for 2022, with one of those scheduled for the Southeast. It will take place Aug. 12-13 in Auburn, Alabama. Attendees will learn cutting-edge operation techniques through demonstrations by stockmanship experts Curt Pate and Dr. Ron Gill.

Cattle enthusiasts will have the option to participate in Auburn’s Beef 201 program. It offers education in feeder grading, value-added marketing concepts, evaluation of harvest-ready cattle, fabrication of carcasses combined with economic analysis, and locally produced niche market opportunities. Participants will be offered sessions on various topics including best practices in nutrition and Southeast U.S. forage management, tools for improved sustainability, current herd health management concepts, beef advocacy training and a unique program designed for teen junior cattlemen members.

Improve your herd health management plan, learn cattle handling techniques and hear updates from industry experts. This two-day event will give you applicable tools to take back to your operation and help improve your bottom line. Registration begins Monday, March 14 at 9 a.m. CST.
