The Georgia Peanut Commission reminds growers and industry leaders that the 45th annual Georgia Peanut Farm Show and Conference is less than a week away at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia. It also reminds interested attendees that this year’s event will be held over two days, Jan. 19-20.

Rodney Dawson, chairman of the Farm Show committee, said the two-day event provides flexibility for farmers wishing to attend.

“We just felt like this would be an opportunity and give a little bit more flexibility to farmers. It gives them that opportunity where if that one day they may have something to do that day, it will give them an opportunity to pick one day or both days if they choose,” Dawson said.

The show will start on Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. It will start again on Thursday, Jan. 20 at 8 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m.

The University of Georgia Peanut Team will provide production seminars on both days; 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

An industry seed seminar will be held on both days as well; 3:05 p.m. to 4:05 p.m. on Wednesday, and 10:35 a.m. to 11:35 a.m. on Thursday.

A free luncheon will be provided on Thursday for all peanut farmers. More than 100 exhibitors and educational programs will be offered to attendees.

During this year’s show, Kelley Manufacturing Co. is providing the Grand Door Prize of one season’s use of a new peanut combine (choice of four-row, six-row or combine with Unload-On-The-Go option) and $5,000 cash money.

Additionally, farmers can register to win the Grower Prize, donated by Amadas Industries. This prize includes a certificate good for $10,000.00 towards the purchase of any new Amadas self-propelled combine or $5,000 towards the purchase of a new four-row or six-row Amadas pull-type combine or $3,000 towards the purchase of a new Amadas six-row or eight-row peanut digger or $1,000 towards the purchase of a new Amadas peanut dump cart and a Grizzly cooler. Amadas is also offering a second prize including a certificate good for a parts credit of $1,000 for Amadas parts through a local authorized Amadas dealer.
