The 2021 Citrus, Vegetable and Specialty Crop Expo kicks off at the Lee Civic Center in North Fort Myers, Florida. The big two-day in-person event is hosted by AgNet Media with programming support from the University of Florida/IFAS.
Today, August 18th, growers will be able to learn about all things citrus. That includes management of black spot, arthropod pests, soil health, irrigation and nutrient management, better management practices for groves infected with HLB, as well as different strategies to reduce fruit drop and improve fruit quality.
On Thursday, August 19th, there will be an ag issues session in the morning to highlight the impact of imports on fruit and vegetable growers, carbon markets, labor and COVID-19. The afternoon portion will focus on vegetables and specialty crops.
Of course the large trade show is taking place both days, where producers can find information and products that could benefit their operations.
The show is open today from 8:00am until 6:00pm, then Thursday from 8:00am until 4:00pm. Registration is available onsite.
