While the 2021 Alabama Legislative Session officially kicked off this week, one annual event that many are familiar with will not take place, at least not yet. The Alabama Agribusiness Council (AAC) has announced the postponement of their legislative reception.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, organizations have been asked to refrain from hosting receptions. The AAC is honoring that request. The council’s board meeting that’s typically held in conjunction with that reception has also been postponed. Board President Mike Pigg will reach out to the board of directors to arrange a meeting for a later date.
For those who are not aware, Leigha Cauthen recently resigned as AAC Executive Director after accepting a new position as director of government relations at Jacksonville State University. The executive team asked Grace S. Ellis to serve as interim director until the search committee selects a full-time executive director.
