Last Friday, the Environmental Protection Agency announced the final action removing the key regulatory barrier to using gasoline blended with up to 15% ethanol (E15) during the summer driving season. This action also reforms the renewable identification number compliance system under the Renewable Fuel Standard program to increase transparency and deter price manipulation.
Geoff Cooper, Renewable Fuels Association president and CEO, said he is pleased with this action.
Cooper said, “Year-round E15 will provide a badly needed long-term demand boost for our industry and America’s farmers, who face a number of daunting challenges today.”
