Heifer development is a critical part of every operation in the cattle industry. In a continued effort to support and facilitate successful replacement heifer development, the Florida Heifer Development Program will host the annual Field Day on January 9th at the Beef Unit Pavilion at the NFREC-Marianna.
The day starts with registration at 8:30am CST. The program will begin at 9:00am with presentations in the Beef Unit Pavilion (Bull Test Sale Ring), followed by the opportunity to interact and engage in chute-side and hands-on demonstrations that will focus on bull selection, herd health, and feed efficiency in replacement heifer development. Lunch will be sponsored by Zoetis Animal Health and Farm Credit of Northwest Florida.
Following lunch, the bulls that will be up for auction through the Florida Bull Test on January 20th will be available for preview. NFREC-Marianna staff will be on site to take prospective buyers to preview bulls prior to sale day. Sale catalogs will be available at the field day as well.
