The 19th Annual Southern Peanut Growers Conference is being held this week at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, Florida. The three-day conference, which wraps up Saturday, provides farmers with information about peanut production, legislative issues, marketing, and promotions. During the event, the National Peanut Board was presented with this year’s Valor Award for their work in peanut allergy research. ZimmComm’s Cindy Zimmerman talked with NPB CEO Bob Parker about the award and where research and promotional efforts about peanut allergies currently stand.
