The University of Florida/IFAS along with Auburn University and the University of Georgia will host a Tri-State Agronomic Scout School on June 8 at the Jackson County Agricultural Conference Center in Marianna, Florida. The event will start that morning with registration at 8:00 AM (CST) and ends with lunch.

This meeting will focus on insects pertaining to cotton, corn, soybean, and peanuts, as speakers will cover information regarding the description, damage, life cycle, and threshold levels for pests in these different crops.

One hour of training will be devoted to cotton, with two speakers having 30-minute blocks each. The corn, soybean, and peanut presentations will each have 30-minute blocks as well. After lunch, participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on pest identification and crop damage training with the speakers in the demonstration plots (consisting of corn, cotton, soybean, and peanut plants).

CEUs will be available at registration. This event has been approved for Florida pesticide CEUs (up to 3 private or row crop), Georgia pesticide CEUs, Alabama pesticide CEUs, and Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) CEUs.

This is a sponsored event with no registration fee, however, attendees must pre-register by Monday, June 5th to get an accurate count for lunch.  RSVP with Annette Hagans or Ethan Carter at the Jackson County Extension Office 850-482-9620, or by email
