This past week was a busy one for agriculture in many ways, but among the top stories was the fact the U.S. Senate voted on Monday to confirm former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue to serve as the new U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, followed the next morning by the official swearing-in ceremony. And one person pleased to see this finally happen is Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black.
