Everett Griner talks about the coyote continuing to be a problem in today’s Agri View.
Well, coyotes are in the news again. This time, it is in the southeastern area. Like feral hogs, there doesn’t seem to be a solution to the coyote problem — unlike hogs who territory is rural areas. Coyotes are more of a problem in the city. They are especially a problem to people who own domesticated animals of any kind. And that is just part of the problem. One state is now paying a bounty on coyotes. But that is not a solution because there are federal laws that protect wildlife which have some application to coyotes. So, those laws impact what states can and cannot do to control coyotes. Coyotes are prolific creatures, not as much as hogs. But so far nobody has found a way to control the growing population. Keep an eye on your animals. And, keep a loaded gun. That is about all you can do.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner.
